ERNiCrMo‑3 contains about 60‑65 % nickel, 20‑25 % chromium, 5‑7 % molybdenum, small amounts of iron (up to ~5 %), and trace levels of silicon, manganese, and carbon (≤0.03 %), phosphorus, and sulfur. The alloy melts at a range of about 1375‑1425 °C. The filler material has a tensile strength of approximately 620‑750 MPa, elongation of 35‑45 %, and excellent toughness even at low temperatures. It shows remarkable resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion in both reducing and oxidizing environments, along with good weldability in MIG and TIG processes.

ERNiCrMo‑3 MIG/TIG wire and rod are commonly used for welding superalloy and corrosion-resistant parts in chemical processing plants, offshore oil and gas platforms, and desalination plants. Key applications include cladding or joining components exposed to seawater, sour gas, and high temperatures, such as heat exchangers, flanges, pressure vessels, and piping. It is also used in the nuclear industry for reactor components, in geothermal plants, and in flue gas desulfurization units. The material’s resistance to oxidation and crevice corrosion makes it suitable for furnace parts, gas turbine components, as well as pumps and valves in harsh environments.
