Duplex 2205 wire contains around 22% chromium, 5–6.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and 0.15–0.20% nitrogen. This alloy provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Mechanical properties include yield strength exceeding 450 MPa, tensile strength between 620 and 700 MPa, elongation of 25% or more, and hardness of 290 HB or less. Cold-drawn versions can achieve higher tensile strengths while remaining flexible. The microstructure ensures long-term structural integrity and resistance to metal fatigue. Duplex 2205 wire performs reliably in high-pressure, corrosive, and elevated-temperature applications.
