Aluminium Bronze usually contains 9–12% aluminium, 4–5% iron, and the remainder copper. The alloys have tensile strength up to 800 MPa, yield strength about 400–500 MPa, elongation of ~20%, and high hardness. They are resistant to corrosion in seawater, biofouling, and cavitation, and are good. The plates of aluminium bronze maintain strength at high temperatures and provide superior wear and fatigue resistance. Their microstructure provides superior machinability and weldability, making them suitable for severe mechanical and structural applications.
